We&#8217;re currently seeking a skilled purchasing professional to manage our Purchasing Department. The ideal candidate will possess the skill set to procure the right product at the right time, while analyzing all costs associated with the purchasing and inventory levels. 
 JOB OVERVIEW 
 To be successful in this role, you must be a self-starter who can thrive within a fast paced team environment of automotive enthusiasts, suppliers and manufacturers of fine automotive parts and accessories. It is helpful if candidate has some familiarity with the automotive aftermarket. Candidate will be part of cross functional team, working closely with Finance, Marketing, Sales, Sourcing and Warehouse employees as needed. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the department and insuring costs are under control, quality &#38; availability of product is consistent. 
 Candidate&#8217;s primary function is to implement a purchasing strategy and schedule in line with company goals and requirements, while maintaining an adequate in-stock ratio of all product SKUs across all lines assigned to him or her. 
 RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
 Develop and implement effective enhanced purchasing strategies 
 Manage other members of the purchasing team 
 Build and maintain relationships with vendors 
 Execute, review and process purchase orders 
 Continuous evaluation of our suppliers and manufacturers in the automotive aftermarket based on quality, timeliness, and price 
 Authorize payments and maintain detailed records (receipts, records and inventories) of ordered and received product 
 Schedule deliveries and ensure timely fulfillment of orders 
 Work closely with Warehouse Team to monitor inventory and determine supply needs 
 Work with Sourcing Team to assist in evaluating new vendors with product offerings that will contribute to the growth and expansion of OPGI&#39;s product line 
 Ensure quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise 
 Interview prospect and existing vendors to learn about products, services and pricing; Including visits to Suppliers&#8217; facilities as necessary 
 Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company 
 Verify purchasing costs, and perform continuous comparison to prior costs 
 Attend SEMA &#38; other industry trade shows as necessary to learn and stay current on trends and to meet and greet suppliers 
 Provide communication and transparency in order to provide status updates to ensure the efficient workflow among inter-departmental teams 
 Keep up with current with purchasing technology trends and implementation, as necessary. 
 REQUIRED SKILLS &#38; QUALIFICATIONS 
 
 Minimum 5 years Purchasing/Sourcing/Supply chain experience 
 Minimum bachelor&#8217;s degree with an emphasis on procurement, 
 Alternatively, a minimum 5 years relevant work experience (Buyer, Logistics, Planning, Etc.) 
 Certifications helpful (Certified Purchasing Professional, Certified Professional Purchasing Manager) 
 Automotive aftermarket/Auto Parts experience is recommended 
 General understanding of ERP purchasing systems and functionality 
 Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook/Word/Excel) 
 Analytical &#38; Critical Mindset 
 Must possess negotiation skills 
 Ability to communicate effectively with domestic and foreign suppliers 
 Bookkeeping/Accounting Experience related to purchasing/procurement functions 
 Must possess a high level attention to detail, staying organized 
 Supervisory experience.

 RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
 Ability to research, contact and engage with suppliers and manufacturers in the automotive aftermarket, with an emphasis on, but not limited to, restoration and high-performance auto parts. 
 Proactively seek out new vendors with product offerings that will contribute to the growth and expansion of OPGI&#39;s product line 
 Maintain existing relationship with vendors/suppliers 
 Write clear and error-free copy for product descriptions etc. 
 Continually check in with current vendors on new product offerings, current product statuses and any other updates 
 Perform investigative competitor pricing research 
 Obtain &#38; prepare sales, marketing &#38; fitment data to migrate to catalogs and e-commerce (retail website environment). This would include automotive standardized product name, number, fitment data, photo if available and more 
 Work closely with Marketing Product Data Team to ensure that new product submissions are prepped correctly for import 
 Provide communication and transparency in order to provide status updates to ensure the efficient workflow among inter-departmental teams 
 REQUIRED SKILLS &#38; QUALIFICATIONS 
 
 Automotive aftermarket/Auto Parts experience is required 
 General understanding of ERP systems and functions
